We have our first SNOW!!! Please remember that all students go outside daily unless it is raining or below 10 degrees. Your child needs to wear appropriate outer clothing each and every day. When it is snowy, they need a winter coat, snow pants, waterproof boots and gloves. If you are unable to provide these items, please let your child’s teacher know or the school office. We have some community resources we can connect you with so your child will stay safe and healthy.
I also want to remind our families that drive to school, to watch for walkers, and remember the safety rules for the roadway and also our parking lot. Please drive slowly, be extremely cautious, and make sure you do not park or stop in the middle of the cross walk. We want to make sure all students are safe and no accidents happen to our precious children.
SARB (School Attendance Review Board) is in effect again this year. Last year, Tahoe Valley was awarded an incentive award from the district based upon our daily attendance rate. We had one of the highest attendance rates in the district. They are offering the incentive again this year. This money is substantial and is used to support many, many programs and resources for YOUR child. Please help us earn this award again. It is up to EACH AND EVERYONE of you. You must bring your child to school EVERY DAY and ON TIME unless they are sick and running a fever or have other symptoms. Please schedule your doctor appoints for later in the day after school if at all possible. It makes a huge difference in your child’s academic performance also. If they miss instruction, that is learning time lost and hard to make up.
Lastly I want to thank all of the parents and community members who showed up and helped out at our Harvest Festival. This night was fun-filled and an absolute blast for everyone!! The Cafecitos parents and PTA families made some delicious food! Check the front lobby for pictures! You can take the photos of your child home with you. Thank you so much for being such wonderful partners with us here at Tahoe Valley!
