Happy New Year! Here is to bright beginnings and new possibilities. I hope this year brings all your hearts desires and wonderful memories for every child. We have many new programs starting this month.
Our 4th annual Tahoe Valley Performing Arts Musical will start practice on January 14th. We will be performing Disney’s Aladdin! This program is open to all students in grades 1-5 and runs afterschool under the direction of Marcia Sarosik and Allyssa Little. I want to thank El Dorado Community Foundation and Lake Tahoe Educational Foundation for providing grant funds to our school to help make this dream a reality! Watch for our performances at the beginning of April. They always seem to sell out as the kids are truly amazing.
Our Tahoe Valley Leadership Team has been hard at work crafting and refining our new School Mission, Vision and Motto statements which now incorporate the Common Core State Standards and our school’s emphasis on Visual and Performing Arts.
Our mission is to provide children with learning experiences that will enable them to:
· Develop Character, Creativity, Critical thinking, Communication and Collaboration skills
· Appreciate the aesthetic values in the Creative and Performing Arts
· Become Self-Confident, Motivated, Caring, and Socially Conscious citizens
Vision: Developing well rounded students who embody 21st Century Skills through the Arts.
Motto: Where the ARTS come ALIVE!
I also want to thank the Cafecitos parents for all of their hard work making the tamales. They were delicious!!!! What a fun and tasty way to raise funds for our school and students. 100% of the funds raised goes directly to our school and programs.
