Dear Families,
Tahoe Valley is a school I am so proud to be a part of. We have an amazing group of professionals all working hard to make your child’s educational experience beyond great!!!
Our 5th grade classes are working on organizing an overnight trip to the Marin Headlands. This is a first-ever for our school and students! They are working on gathering enough funding to make this a reality for our students.
Our VAPA Booster is working on the grade level plays and musicals. This year, EVERY grade level will participate in a curriculum-based play. Our second grade just performed SQUIRM! This extravaganza is about all things creepy and crawly and how they work to help our environment. We are working hard at securing enough funding to help pay for the costumes and props for all of the plays. Nothing can stop us, though. We are on a roll!!!
Our annual musical performance this year, was just secured. We are putting on Seussical Kids!!! We hope you will join us in April for these community performances. It is always a sell-out, but we put on one play during the school day for the other schools to attend and enjoy. It is our way to help bring the Arts to ALL!
We just received notification that some of our grants were successful. The Lake Tahoe Educational Foundation has funded: Get in the Act! Science and Drama Theater for grades K-3. Paint & Sip, our collaborative project with Lake Tahoe Paint & Sip where our students in grade 1-5 paint a real canvas. They also are helping to partially fund our musical production and to help us replace some of our wireless lavalier microphones.
If you would like to donate (Tax deductible) to Tahoe Valley’s many programs, please contact our office. Our school serves students of which 84% are living at or below poverty level. Tahoe Valley is their only opportunity to experience and enjoy the Arts!!!
Respectfully,
Christina Grubbs
