PTA is an important entity here at Tahoe Valley. Our families and friends are the backbone to the extra programs we are able to offer here at Tahoe Valley. Mr. Trader held a successful “Star Gazing” night where students could come to learn about stars, the moon, and planet and see them through his telescope. We have a wonderful group of dedicated parents who are running our recycling program during lunchtime every day. We are gearing up for our Harvest Fest; one of our largest events of the year on October 29th. We would like to invite families to sign up to help on one game or to help serve food for an hour. We also want to let parents and families know that they can also help our school earn FREE MONEY through our Box Tops program, Raley’s Extra Credit program (where you just sign up and we get money every time you shop), and through our ink cartridge/cell phone recycling program. Every single cent earned goes directly into field trips, assemblies, and other school programs; all for the benefit of our students. Please help us do the most for your child and their education. Just a little time and effort goes a long way.
We have begun our newest program, the Performing Arts Class taught by Mrs. Briggs. She has a children’s theater background and even attended USC in theater arts. She will be working weekly with every child in the school to develop their speaking skills, confidence, acting, articulation, and imagination through creative lessons which are tied to the Visual and Performing Arts State Standards for California. It is so much fun going in to observe and seeing every child actively engaged and having fun. Be on the lookout for the fruits of their labor during the year in the various productions.
Our students are busy learning with our new Common Core aligned English Language Arts and Math programs. These programs enhance their critical thinking skills and develop their content knowledge together. You can learn more about these programs during Parent Teacher Conferences.
We look forward to a strong partnership with you; working hard to help your child reach their highest potential.
