The snow has arrived!!! So far we have had to implement 3 snow days with more to come I am sure. On Monday we had a number of students who arrived at school unfortunately. The school district calls Snow Days when the weather and conditions around the town or school are unsafe. They try to announce it as soon as possible for your planning needs. They send out automated phone calls to your primary phone number listed on your student’s emergency card, through email to your primary email account listed, over the news services, and on the local radio stations KRLT 93.9 and KOWL 1490 (AM). It is your responsibility to check in on these methods before bringing your child to school as many times there is no one available if they are just dropped off here at school. Our primary responsibility is to always ensure the safety of your child.
Winter Weather is here with a vengeance. Please make sure your child is dressed appropriately for the weather. Students MUST wear snow boots, snow pants, jackets, hat and gloves. Students go outside daily unless it is raining or the temperature is below 10 degrees. If you need help with gathering these essential items, please let the office know and we will connect you with support. Again, safety and the health of your child is our primary focus.
As I sit by my window watching the white snowflakes, it reminds me how lucky we are to live in such a beautiful area filled with such natural wonders. Please take the time to get outside with your loved ones. Build a snowman, make snow angels, build a fort or igloo, go sledding in the neighborhood. These memories you create will last a lifetime!!!! Don’t forget to take some pictures too. Life is too short we need to grab onto these wonderful times whenever they grace our lives. ENJOY and have some cocoa when you get back inside!!!
